The overall goals of this course are:
To Understand the Dynamics of Human Trafficking: This includes examine the domestic and global prevalence, patterns, and methods of human trafficking, including the socio-economic, cultural, and technological factors that enable this crime.
To Critically Analyze Prevention and Intervention Strategies: Explore existing legal frameworks, law enforcement practices, and community-based efforts aimed at preventing human trafficking and supporting survivors.
Foster Advocacy and Ethical Practices: Promote awareness, advocacy, and ethical consumerism to address the demand for trafficked labor and services while supporting policies that combat exploitation.
To Understand the Exploitation of Vulnerable Individuals: Analyze how socio-economic, psychological, and cultural factors contribute to the vulnerability of individuals to human trafficking and exploitation.
To Examine Methods of Recruitment and Control: Evaluate the mechanisms traffickers use to recruit and maintain control over victims, including psychological manipulation, coercion, and systemic barriers to escape.
Promote Effective Strategies for Prevention and Support: Explore strategies for reducing demand, enhancing law enforcement training, and fostering community engagement to prevent exploitation and support survivors effectively.
