Course Author(s)

Course Summary

One of the most common thoughts a new supervisor has after assuming their new role is, "Why did I do this?". Understanding the specific problem areas in the transition and keeping the reasons you took the position at the front of your mind will help you manage the stress of this new role.

By the end of this course, you will be able to list your personal reasons for becoming a supervisor and describe the transition process from peer to supervisor. We will also cover common problems in that transition, the responsibilities of the supervisor role, the importance of role models, and resources for managing stress.
